MEMORi is an acronym for Möbius Emergency Management and Operational Recovery International.  
 
Möbius  
The Möbius strip was first described - almost simultaneously, yet independently - in 1858 by 2 German mathematicians, August F Möbius and Johann B Listing. The Möbius strip is (in layman’s terms) a circle with a twist. It is probably the best known example of a one-sided surface and exhibits some very curious characteristics and properties. Some of these properties are revealed when you try to cut the strip vertically. Depending on where it is cut, different (and very surprising!) end results are obtained.  
 
This symbolises our philosophy and approach to business challenges: often a simple and apparently inconspicuous change can deliver radically different outcomes. We look for the ‘twists’ or slight changes that will ultimately produce surprisingly different - often incredible - results. This is why we measure our success, not by the number of new procedures or the amount of changes, but simply by focusing on the outcomes/results. By utilising best practice and scientifically sound principles, combined with our varied and extensive experience in various industries in a global context, we are able to provide significant, yet sustainable, improvements in efficiency, effectiveness and economy.
 
Emergency Management 
Extensive research on management in extreme environments and situations have been conducted in the sphere of Military operations. Incidents and environments are defined in terms of a framework comprising
VolatilityUncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity.
Whether it is a new business venture struggling to get traction, a remote division in trouble, business unit under-performing, a project that is failing or any other issue requiring urgent and decisive management intervention, we are ready to step in, analyse the situation and implement the corrective strategies. 
 
We utilise our vast experience in managing emergency incidents and crisis situations to manage and resolve unique challenges - those for which the case studes have yet to be written. 
 
Operational Recovery 
Business processes are a vital part of any business operation.  
By analysing the timeline(s) of different operational activities, we identify the relative value of these activities, reducing/eliminating ‘idle time’ or ‘non-value-adding’ activities.  
 
These are important indicators for operational improvement and provide new perspectives on performance. Identifying relevant performance indicators is essential to measuring and improving performance. 
 
International 
With our global, multi-cultural expertise and broad experience, we can efficiently and effectively intervene and cover global, multi-national assignments. 
 
Consulting 
The position of a consultant is essential to his contribution: Being 'outside' the situation, he has an objective view, can often provide insights that are missed because management is too closely involved in the issues at hand. He also has experience of other business challenges and can add value through lateral solution application and creative problem solving expertise.  
 
We have hands-on experience in active operational and/or executive management under challenging conditions over and above consulting experience. Accordingly we have an excellent understanding of the realities faced by business organisations. We have worked with a variety of organisations, ranging from sole owners and SMEs to global, multi-national corporations (FTSE100 and FTSE 250).

Anton Jooste

Anton Jooste established Memori Consulting Ltd in 2005. He specialises in managing under extreme conditions - Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity - and has distinguished himself in providing innovative solutions and efficient crisis management in various industry sectors.

 

With more than 30 years experience in a combination of senior executive and management consulting positions across a variety of industries, most notably retail, manufacturing, professional services and financial services, he has been working with diverse organisations from small local businesses to large global corporations (FTSE 100 and FTSE 250).

 

His expertise is in creative problem-solving, design of strategy, tactical operational solutions, change, project and crisis management with the underlying motive of adding value to organisations he deals with. 

His geographical footprint covers the EMEA region as well as India.

 

Anton is qualified to post-graduate level and is also a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner.
